The industry is still coming to terms with the shocking news that Balika Vadhu and Bigg Boss star Pratyusha Banerjee has committed suicide. As the news broke on Friday late evening everyone thought it could be an April fools prank. Unfortunately it turned out to be something devastatingly real.

Salman Khan who hosted Bigg Boss where Pratyusha was a participant was in a big shock when he got the news. A source reveals that he got the news really late and found it extremely hard to believe. The source says, “Salman was really fond of Pratyusha. He always thought she was really young to be on the show. Even after the show got over she has attended his birthday bash at the Panvel farmhouse. So it was really shocking when he heard that she was no more.” The entire season 7 of Bigg Boss who worked with her is shocked beyond belief over her untimely death.

Pratyusha Banerjee hanged herself at her Goregoan apartment yesterday night (April 1). There are many controversies surrounding her unfortunate death. Her boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh, who she has been dating since a last one and a half year, is blamed by the television industry for pushing her to the brink.

A young life cut short. Actress Pratyusha Banerjee whom we remember as Anandi from Balika Vadhu has reportedly committed suicide. The actress passed away in Kokilaben Ambani Hospital in Andheri. As per a news report, she attempted suicide earlier in the day and hung herself. When she was admitted to the hospital, she was pronounced dead.

The cause behind the drastic step is said to be issues in her personal life. She was extremely depressed by how things were shaping up with her boyfriend, Rahul Raj Singh. The two were in a serious relationship and planning to marry soon. When we got in touch with the hospital authorities they told us that they could not leak the information. We also called up her Balika Vadhu colleague Sidharth Shukla who said, “I also just heard the news and I am shocked. This is indeed very sad and depressing.”

Pratyusha was best known for her debut role in Balika Vadhu. Thereafter, she shifted to reality shows and participated in Bigg Boss 7. Her last outing on TV was in Sasural Simar Ka where she played a daayan. The past few months were pretty controversial for her as she accused eight men of posing as cops and molesting her. Moreover, her boyfriend and she also faced flak for non-payment of dues after her birthday party at a plush suburban venue.
